Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program provides scholarships to Pakistani high school students for one academic session in United States.Students are enrolled in a full academic year of high school study in the US, attending classes, labs and extracurricular programs with their American classmates. Sanjan Nagar has been participating in this program for the past 5 years. Every year one or two students are selected to go to US by iEARN . This year two of our students are in US .

These girls keep in touch with their teachers when they are away and so the recent mail we received from Amina is; "From 14-18 November it was international education week. We went to different schools and gave presentations about our country. It was really interesting and informative activity. It was a good chance to tell people about our country. Lot of people had misconceptions about Pakistan and so a lot of questions were asked on the current situation of our country but by the grace of Allah I was fully pleased in giving answers to their question. I think I had done a pretty good job.

Cultural night was fun and I applied henna on a lot of hands. People were really happy to see the intricate design on their hands.

Last week it was our thanks giving holiday. It is a holiday where you go to your relatives and eat a lot of food. I went to my grand maa and grand paa's house. I helped them in making food. The special dish on this holiday was turkey and bread stuffing. It is really a delicious dish. It was really fun to meet other members of my family.

My second quarter has started and I'm doing my best to maintain my" A" grades. Just remember me in your prayers.

Miss you all . Amina . "
