An exciting summer
camp was organized for senior school
children showing credible
achievements over the past academic
year 2004-2005.A two-week program
included Music, Literary and
dramatic Theatre and performing
Arts. Integrated IT/Social studies,
Arts and Bead work activities. Our
special thanks to Ajoka theatre,
Alif Laila, Kalamkar, Ms. Alia
(Vocalist) Mr. Qasim, Sitar Nawaz
and Mr.Wajid Hussain, Tabla player
for giving their valuable time and
extending hands in cooperation to
make this camp successful
interesting and worthwhile for
children.

Glimpses of unique presentations

the staff alike based on the
achievements of interesting summer
school activities. Sharing meals with
one another, children had party time
on the last working day of the
academic year 2004-2005 The school
will remain closed for summer
vacations from 15th June thru to 26hth
August 2005. New academic year will

Declaration of Result |

After having a general parents
meeting, annual school result for year
2004-2005 was declared on 31st May
2005.Primary and senior school
children showed excellent performance
while the weak areas of the middle
school children would be addressed
through intensive remedial summer
school in June. Class nine and ten will
start their first term examination for
year 2005-2006 from 6th June on ward.

Mrs. Indian High Commissioners Visit |

|
On Saturday, May 21st, 2005, a
delegation from the Indian High
Commission, Islamabad visited Sanjan
Nagar Girls High School under the
leader ship of Ms. Mohini Menon. This
was her second visit and a very
special one. The EC members were also
present to welcome them. The school
staff and students organized a special
program for the honorable guests. On
behalf of the Ladies Club of the
Indian High Commission Ms. Mohini
Menon brought a message of good will
and friendship. She also presented a
generous donation of Rs.50, 000 to the
School which was received by the
Trustee of SNPET, Mrs. Tasneem Maqbool.

Dr. Arifa's Visit and Lecture |

21st May 2005: The renowned
scholar, respected Dr. Arifa Sayeeda
who is also a Trustee and member of
the Education Committee (EC) visited
the Sanjan Nagar School and shared
historical background and research
experiences of the Urdu Language.
Senior school students and staff
enjoyed the interactive informative
session thoroughly. It was an
excellent example of good taste in
language and scholarship. A very
impressive beginning to the Saturday
Lecture & Speaker Series which
will be a monthly feature at Sanjan
Nagar as an enrichment and exposure
program for students as well as the

On Thursday 5th Ms. Sayeda Laleen
of grammar school visited Sanjan
Nagar. She went to different classes
and appreciated the hard work of the
staff and students.

Selection for a WEC placement in Nigeria |
 |
|
One of our IT faculty members Mr.
Zulfiqar Ali has been selected for WEC
(World Education Corps) Placement in
Nigeria. He will work on the iEARN and
WEC projects in Nigeria for one year.
He will leave in August 2005 for ten
days orientation at Oxford University
after which he will proceed to Nigeria
in order to complete his assignment.
The World Education Corps (WEC) is
a nonprofit service organization
designed to bring enhanced educational
opportunities to developing countries
and to underserved schools and
communities, worldwide. It will
recruit volunteers, typically recent
college graduates, in a spirit of
service similar to the Peace Corps.
Unlike the Peace Corps, however, the
WEC will draw its volunteers from all
over the world. Volunteers will be
assigned to a wide variety of
projects, including enrichment of
school programs, literacy initiatives,
economic development, public health,
agriculture, and environmental
protection. |

Parents and guests were invited to
witness the open house for the second
time held on 20th April 2005. On this
occasion students gave practical
demonstration and presentations of
their work done through various
projects. Several board members,
teachers and facilitators from ITA as
well as Sudhar were overwhelmed to see
the integrated project based
activities of children. We were
honored to have Mrs.Sabiha Minto and
family from Canada amongst us who were
pleased to see the wonderful job of
educating young ladies according to

Cornell University in New York and
also working for Schlumberger Oilfield
Services Youngsville, LA and his

through an interactive multi-media

active question answer session with
senior school children and staff
members as well as visiting teachers
from ITA schools on 21st March 2005.

On 4th March 2005, Annual Sports Day
2005 was held at the school campus for
the first time. The Hon'ble Ms. Saadia
S. Choudry, Advisor to the Chief
Minister, on Education/Donor
Coordination NGOs was the Chief Guest at
this occasion. The guest list consisted
of prominent social figures and Trustees
SNPETS.
All 243 students of Sanjan Nagar Public
Education Trust performed very well in
different races/games and karate
demonstration. Parents also enjoyed and
participated in the hurdle and musical
chair game.
In the end, the Chief Guest addressed
the audience and urged the Trust to help
and make our dynamic Chief Minister's
dream of a 'PARAH LIKHA PUNJAB' a
reality. She admired the student's
performance and confidence and also
distributed the prizes among the
position holders.

Zunaira Younas's Recovery |
 |
|
Zunaira Younas of Class Nursery has
recovered and was discharged from the
hospital after a successful cardiac
surgery. She was operated at
Children's Hospital on 16th February
2005. Her parents were very happy and
thankful to the Sanjan Nagar Trust and
in particular to Dr.Sajid Maqbool for
financial and moral support in time of
need. She will continue her normal
school after spring break hopefully. |

SNPET. He was the central figure of the
fundraiser entitled 'Vision
In Harmony II' held at Asif Jah's
Haveli, on Nov. 28th 2004. Zehra Nigah,
Farida Khanum, accompanied M. F Hussein
as he painted. Mr. Anwar Maqsood
compared the program and Mr. Shoaib
Hashmi performed the auctioneer's role.
Students from classes 7,8,9 sang the
Sanjan Nagar School song and presented
flowers to all the artists. The
fundraiser raised 9.9 million from the

HIMA at the Sanjan Nagar Institute of
Philosophy and Arts Lahore. The
classic movie is based on Begum Hima
Akhlaque Hussein, Mr. Raza Kazim's

morality and sensibility reflecting
the culture of Awadh and her
adaptation to the alien new culture of
