Girl Guide Tour to Murree

In house training

Revisiting the vision and redesigning the mission statement to ensure commitment and quality assurance for future aspirations, an interactive three days workshop was organized by the head teacher from 17th thru to 20th June 2005 before closing for summer holidays. Click here to view pictures.

1st June to 15th June

An exciting summer camp was organized for senior school children showing credible achievements over the past academic year 2004-2005.A two-week program included Music, Literary and dramatic Theatre and performing Arts. Integrated IT/Social studies, Arts and Bead work activities. Our special thanks to Ajoka theatre, Alif Laila, Kalamkar, Ms. Alia (Vocalist) Mr. Qasim, Sitar Nawaz and Mr.Wajid Hussain, Tabla player for giving their valuable time and extending hands in cooperation to make this camp successful interesting and worthwhile for children.

Sharing meals with one another, children had party time on the last working day of the academic year 2004-2005 The school will remain closed for summer vacations from 15th June thru to 26hth August 2005. Declaration of Result

After having a general parents meeting, annual school result for year 2004-2005 was declared on 31st May 2005.Primary and senior school children showed excellent performance while the weak areas of the middle school children would be addressed through intensive remedial summer school in June. Class nine and ten will start their first term examination for year 2005-2006 from 6th June on ward. Click here to view pictures.

Mrs. Indian High Commissioners Visit

On Saturday, May 21st, 2005, a delegation from the Indian High Commission, Islamabad visited Sanjan Nagar Girls High School under the leader ship of Ms. Mohini Menon. This was her second visit and a very special one. The EC members were also present to welcome them. The school staff and students organized a special program for the honorable guests. On behalf of the Ladies Club of the Indian High Commission Ms. Mohini Menon brought a message of good will and friendship. She also presented a generous donation of Rs.50, 000 to the School which was received by the Trustee of SNPET, Mrs. Tasneem Maqbool. Click here to view pictures.

Dr. Arifa's Visit and Lecture

21st May 2005: The renowned scholar, respected Dr. Arifa Sayeeda who is also a Trustee and member of the Education Committee (EC) visited the Sanjan Nagar School and shared historical background and research experiences of the Urdu Language. Senior school students and staff enjoyed the interactive informative session thoroughly. It was an excellent example of good taste in language and scholarship. A very impressive beginning to the Saturday Lecture & Speaker Series which will be a monthly feature at Sanjan Nagar as an enrichment and exposure program for students as well as the staff. AKU Workshop

13th May 2005: Senior School staff attended examination system and curriculum workshop organized by AKU Examination Board Karachi.

PU University Students

For comparative study of schools four students of Punjab University visited Sanjan Nagar in order to complete their assignments for mass communication. Ms. Syeda Laleen's Visit

On Thursday 5th Ms. Sayeda Laleen of grammar school visited Sanjan Nagar. She went to different classes and appreciated the hard work of the staff and students.

Selection for a WEC placement in Nigeria

One of our IT faculty members Mr. Zulfiqar Ali has been selected for WEC (World Education Corps) Placement in Nigeria. He will work on the iEARN and WEC projects in Nigeria for one year. He will leave in August 2005 for ten days orientation at Oxford University after which he will proceed to Nigeria in order to complete his assignment.

The World Education Corps (WEC) is a nonprofit service organization designed to bring enhanced educational opportunities to developing countries and to underserved schools and communities, worldwide. It will recruit volunteers, typically recent college graduates, in a spirit of service similar to the Peace Corps. Unlike the Peace Corps, however, the WEC will draw its volunteers from all over the world. Volunteers will be assigned to a wide variety of projects, including enrichment of school programs, literacy initiatives, economic development, public health, agriculture, and environmental protection.

Open House Day

Parents and guests were invited to witness the open house for the second time held on 20th April 2005. On this occasion students gave practical demonstration and presentations of their work done through various projects. Several board members, teachers and facilitators from ITA as well as Sudhar were overwhelmed to see the integrated project based activities of children. We were honored to have Mrs.Sabiha Minto and family from Canada amongst us who were pleased to see the wonderful job of educating young ladies according to innovative teaching techniques. iEARN Woprkshop

Mr. Kamran Shaukat, one of the IT faculty members attended three days iEARN Workshop held at Cardinal school Gulberg. The workshop was organized through ITA and iEARN Pakistan.

Girl Guide Visit

15th April 2005: Students of class 7 and 8 went to Guide House Lahore to attend two days practical workshop on camping and first aid.

14th April 2005: It was heartwarming and a pleasure to see so much energy and progress within a few years for Mr. Khalid and family who visited the school after four years.

ITA, SUDHAR Resource team District Kasur

14th April 2005: Along with Ms. Raheela from ITA Lahore a group of fifteen facilitators, visited Sanjan Nagar to gain ideas for integrated activity based teaching methodology.

The team was thrilled to see the set up and was absolutely sure that the targets were being achieved.

Intel Award Victory
On behalf of the entire school staff The Head Teacher Mrs. Neelam Ernest proudly received Intel award and Rs. One Hundred Thousand prize in recognition of successful achievement of the targets set up for latest interactive project based teaching learning and school excellence in a grand ceremony in Islamabad on 24th March 2005.Several teachers also accompanied the school head to the ceremony in Islamabad. Hashmat Effendi, Wajih Effendi
A Guiness Book Record Holder Mr.Wajih Effendi presently Studying at the Cornell University in New York and also working for Schlumberger Oilfield Services Youngsville, LA and his genius younger brother, shared their experiences in Robotics and technology through an interactive multi-media presentation. This was followed by an active question answer session with senior school children and staff members as well as visiting teachers from ITA schools on 21st March 2005. SNPET is highly grateful to Wajih and his brother for taking the time out for us for an inspiring conversation and sharing with the students and staff. Click here to view pictures.
Miss Najma's Visit
Ms. Najma Butt, senior Guider visited the Sanjan Nagar School and distributed Girl Guide Camping Certificates to the students who participated in the Guide Camping Tour to Murree last year.
Women's Day
During the routine morning assembly presentations class seven students Ume-Kalsoom and Fakhra Bashir delivered speeches on the women's rights.
Mr. Norbart's Visit
     
  On 9th March 2005, Mr. Norbert, an ex-Live Stock Development Economist, Govt. of Punjab visited Sanjan Nagar School with Beena Manzar. He also witnessed children performing karate and appreciated the hard work and devotion of the students and staff.

     
   
Annual Sports Day
     
 

On 4th March 2005, Annual Sports Day 2005 was held at the school campus for the first time. The Hon'ble Ms. Saadia S. Choudry, Advisor to the Chief Minister, on Education/Donor Coordination NGOs was the Chief Guest at this occasion. The guest list consisted of prominent social figures and Trustees SNPETS.

All 243 students of Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust performed very well in different races/games and karate demonstration. Parents also enjoyed and participated in the hurdle and musical chair game.

In the end, the Chief Guest addressed the audience and urged the Trust to help and make our dynamic Chief Minister's dream of a 'PARAH LIKHA PUNJAB' a reality. She admired the student's performance and confidence and also distributed the prizes among the position holders.

Zunaira Younas's Recovery
Zunaira Younas of Class Nursery has recovered and was discharged from the hospital after a successful cardiac surgery. She was operated at Children's Hospital on 16th February 2005. Her parents were very happy and thankful to the Sanjan Nagar Trust and in particular to Dr.Sajid Maqbool for financial and moral support in time of need. She will continue her normal school after spring break hopefully.
Teacher's Achievement in the Intel Teacher's Contest
 
Out of fourteen projects sent for the Intel Contest. Two were short-listed. Ms. Saadia Naseem worked with Class Seven on 'Hifzane Sahat Kay Osool' (Hygiene) project and Naseem Rasheed worked with Class Two on 'Hamarye Lebaas' (Our Dresses) project.
 
Intel School Contest Victory

The school won the Intel School Contest. The Contest was a part of the Intel Teach to the Future program launched by the Intel Corporation Ltd.

AKU Training Workshop

Teacher Uzma Mazhar attended a three-day training workshop held at Islamabad on Islamic Studies.

Intel Team Survey

An Indian Intel Evaluation team visited for external evaluation. School Head Teacher was questioned for Intel School competition while the staff and the children were examined at the same time.

Girl Guide House - Contribution for Tsunami

The school received a shield and the children certificates of honor for the best performance from Girl Guide association of Pakistan. Children contributed Rs.800 towards Tsunami on this occasion. Click here to view pictures.

Condolence for Mrs. Roqqayya Jaffery

Mrs. Neelam Ernest and Teacher Afifa gave a power point presentation at ITA on their visit to USA.

Common Wealth Scholarship

Six students of Sanjan Nagar received common wealth countries' league education fund sponsorship for one year.

The External Evaluation

The External Evaluation Team of the Federal Board of the Examination Islamabad visited the School.

Visions and Harmony II, an M.F.Husain experience

Mr. M. F Hussein, the celebrated barefoot artist of India visited the school to work with students. It was indeed a profound honor and experience for all students and staff. He drew for the children and answered their questions. He signed autographs. He generously donated his paintings for SNPET. He was the central figure of the fundraiser entitled 'Vision In Harmony II' held at Asif Jah's Haveli, on Nov. 28th 2004. Zehra Nigah, Farida Khanum, accompanied M. F Hussein as he painted. Mr. Anwar Maqsood compared the program and Mr. Shoaib Hashmi performed the auctioneer's role. Students from classes 7,8,9 sang the Sanjan Nagar School song and presented flowers to all the artists. The fundraiser raised 9.9 million from the paintings alone.  Click here to read more details. 

Premier of film HIMA

Staff witnessed premier of film HIMA at the Sanjan Nagar Institute of Philosophy and Arts Lahore. The classic movie is based on Begum Hima Akhlaque Hussein, Mr. Raza Kazim's mother who was no ordinary women, but a lady depicting a strong character, morality and sensibility reflecting the culture of Awadh and her adaptation to the alien new culture of Punjab after partition.

International Children's day

The school children participated and won prizes in the cultural dress show on the occasion of International Children's day celebrated at Children's Hospital Lahore.

M.F. Hussain's visit

The honorable and the legendary MF Hussein visited SNPET. He spent his day with the students made remarkable paintings and shared his lifetime experiences with staff and students.

Shalimar Garden Visit

Middle school children visited Shalimar while visiting different areas they collected information and history of the mugal era.

Walls Ice Cream Visit

Senior school children and staff members visited Walls Ice Cream factory, escorted by a senior executive they saw different departments of the plant and enjoyed all delicious flavors served afterwards.

Iqbal's Day
The students collected and shared information on the life history and poetry of our National poet, Allama Iqbal during morning assembly; artwork was displayed on the soft boards.
Intel Project Work
Fourteen staff members prepared different projects for Intel Teachers and School Competition 2004.
Early Childhood
A program on 'Early Childhood' was held at the Children Hospital - facilitated by Mr. Nasir Gotbed - from Germany.
Eid Millan Party
In a very festive mood children wearing colorful dresses celebrated Eid, enjoyed putting Hanna and shared sweets with one other.

 

Ten Sports
Ten Sports Channel team visited the School. They made a video film of school events, interviewed staff and students and enjoyed the Eid Milan Party with us.
Indian High Commissioner
Indian High Commissioner's wife Mrs. Mohini Menon and a group of renowned people from the embassy visited the school with Mrs.Raza Kazim. The officials appreciated the hard work done by the staff and the students.
Uniliver Art competition

Children participated and received certificates through Uniliver Art competition 2004.They also had the honor of having their artwork displayed at the Alhamrah Art Gallery.

Visit to the Lahore Zoo

Class Nursery, Prep, One and Two visited Lahore Zoo as part of their excursion trip. It was a memorable outing indeed!

Pakistan Medical Association

Pakistan Medical Association Team visited the school. They gave a presentation to the students on Health and Hygiene.

International Teacher's day

International Teacher's day was celebrated in the school. On this occasion, students gave presentation during the morning assembly. They also pasted some art working on the soft boards.

International Day of Cardiology

International Day of Cardiology was celebrated in the school. The students visited Children's Hospital and attended a Seminar on the International Day of Cardiology. Students also participated in the Question & Answer session and had a free cholesterol check up as well.

IT Workshop

To improve and enhance integrate information and technology in education IT workshop for staff was organized by Mr. Manzar. We are honored and grateful to Mian Manzar for the generous donation of fully equipped Multimedia room.

Pakistan-India People's Forum for Peace and Democracy

An opening speech a peace song and a puppet show were presented by our schoolchildren in the Pakistan-India People's Forum for Peace and Democracy held at Avari Hotel Lahore.

A Grand Program

A grand Program organized for prospective donors in which the Governor State Bank, Dr. Ishrat Hussein was invited as the chief guest. Several senior bankers CEOs of Citibank, Union Bank, Bank of Punjab and Unilever representatives were also present at this occasion. They pledged to support the cause of SNPET.

 

Intel Workshop

Teacher Uzma attended the Intel Workshop at the Children's Complex based on the use of technology in Science.

Photo Exhibition

Photo exhibition held at Alhamra. Saadia, Kalsoom and Sidra's pictures were displayed and prizes were given.

Professional Photographer's Visit

Begum Rasheeda Raza and a group of Swedish professional photographers visited the school. Sadia Sarwar, Kalsoom Fatima and Sidra Hussein also attended a workshop and developed pinhole camera thereafter.

Open House Day

The inauguration ceremony of the schools' new building held. Madam Zobaida Jalal, Federal Minister of Education and Mr. Mian Imran Masood, Provincial Minister for Education were invited as the chief guests.

Over 500 parents and guests attended the colorful program. They also witnessed the annual Open House Day of the school illustrating integrated learning.
