sd June 25th, 2011: First Parent Council meeting was held presided by Madam Faiza Shahrukh. The meeting was formed in the last Trust-Parent meeting headed by Ms Baela Jamil Raza on 18th June 2011. Middle and Senior School Coordinators were also present on this occasion.

 

sd June 18th, 2011: Ms Baela Raza Jamil managing trustee of SNPET presided over a Parents Council meeting. Twenty seven parents attended the meeting in which Aya Hameeda and Mr. Saimon Robin were also present.

The issue of sustainability of this unique model was discussed. Parents were also explained the sibling and fee policy for new admissions. The new evening shift head-teacher Ms Raheela Akram was introduced. Mrs. Jamil shared the good news of the opening of the new Campus B at Nishtar Colony and introduced Ms Arifa Mansoor as head-teacher of the new Elementary Campus B of Sanjan Nagar.

The core team comprising of seven members were selected who volunteered to work actively for the Parents Council. It was decided that the Council will meet on the last Saturday of every month. Click here to see more pictures of this meeting.

sd June 13th 2011: Sanjan Nagar is proud to announce its second Branch Sanjan Nagar Elementary School Campus B at Nistar Colony which is just a Kilometer away from the main campus A. The process of new admissions are in progress .The admission of Sanjan Nagar Elementary School Campus B were also done in Campus A. Campus B will commence from 5th August 2011 for the academic session 2011-2012. Elementary Campus will have play group as well. 146 students had been enrolled up till now in Campus B from Play group to class Three.

sd April 7th, 2011: School Parent meeting on miscellaneous school issues was held presided by the school principal and middle school coordinator. The following concerns were discussed in the meeting.

April 2nd, 2011: The school principal presided a parents meeting with parents of class eight students. In the meeting announcement was made that the school is going to continue with Aga Khan board as the examination board for SSC and HSSC classes. Middle and senior school coordinator were also with present in the meeting.

February 17th, 2011: Sanjan Nagar school is proud to announce the receiving of ten Intel-based notebooks (Classmate PC®) - CMPCs from an Intel Teach Program. These ten Table purpose-built note-books are equipped with a teachers' software for collaborative learning and teaching. This donation was made possible by our partner Ms. Riffat Ayesha and Mr. Asad at Relief International.

February 15ht, 2011: Sanjan Nagar Education Trust is proud to announce the appointment of Saadia Sarwar as Board of Trustee of SNPET Trust. It is always heart warming and satisfying for us to witness the transformation of students from an ordinary to extra ordinary while they are going through this educational program. They become useful members of the society, developing and recognizing their own identities in this worth while journey. Saadia Sarwar who completed her school studies from Sanjan Nagar school in 2006 is now doing her bachelor studies on a scholarship at FC College.

She says, "I really feel proud being a part of Sanjan Nagar and now as a board member of SNPET. I am grateful to madam Bela for giving me the opportunity to sit among all the excellent and well experienced Trustees and Board members. She has made me feel proud, and has given me the chance to expose myself to the discussions and decisions taken regarding the better future of SNPET. This will not only help me to learn many new things and have a great experience in this field, but also to explore my hidden skills and express my ideas, thoughts and suggestions regarding SNPET, being a part of Sanjan Nagar since 1996, continuing as an alumni. I really wish and hope to contribute much in the effort of scaling up of Sanjan Nagar and its bright future and success. My prayers are always with Sanjan Nagar and I wish many girls like me come and do contribute for the progress of SNPET so that it may have a great contribution in the progress of Pakistan in real terms. Inshaallah!!"

 

sd December 6th, 2010: Book Bound Project re-started in Sanjan Nagar. This year the project activities are bit different as compared to earlier. The project activities will take place in the resource room of the school where custom-made furniture and resource material included books, novels, encyclopedia, DVDs and a 30" TV. Mr Mian Manzer a school well-wisher and donor is solely supporting this project. He also donated a 32" LCD monitor to the school computer lab.

November 29th, 2010: Sanjan Nagar Trust organized a grand "Black Tie Charity Art Auction - Indus Inspiration II" as annual fundraising event for the trust. Around 62 master pieces of twenty seven famous artists were arrayed in the auction exhibition including some historic piece of paintings of legendry M.F Hussain. The auction, which E. Rising conducted with the excitement of an English Premier League football match, was part of an initiative to raise funds for setting up more schools by the Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust (SNPET) across the country.

October, 4th, 2010: Mrs Praminda Sobharwal wife of Indian High commissioner in Islamabad gave a generous donation of Rs50,000. She pledged for this in her last visit that she would pay last week. She has been also assisting the school principal and school IBO coordinator in application process of IBO Form B submission.

October 4th, 2010: Evening school parents donated a new P-IV computer for the school. The computer is placed in nursery class for junior school teachers.

September 23rd, 2010: An IBO School parent meeting for morning school shift held at the school campus. School Ms Faiza and IBO coordinator Ms Naseem Rasheed presided the meeting. All parents of junior school students of the morning shift attended the meeting including parents of new admitted students of nursery class. IBO teaching and learning system was introduced to the parents, seeking support from parents in children learning.

August 25th, 2010: Sanjan Nagar takes pride in sharing that it has successfully completed its IB PYP Registration Phase A. The school applied for IB-PYP (Primary Year Program) in August 2009. The school id now at the Candidate Stage of PYP program as it has received official approval from IBO of Application A. Visit http://ibo.org for more information.

The school is now preparing for authorization phase which will take next six months to complete. "This is one of the steps of a remarkable achievement of Sanjan Nagar school towards the globally recognized and accredited education which the school has promised for its students." said the school's PYP coordinator Ms. Naseem Rasheed.

sd June 4th, 2010: School Annual Result for 2009-2010 was declared. A teacher parent meeting was also held at the same day. It was headed by the school principal Ms. Faiza Shahrukh and primary school coordinator Ms. Naseem Rasheed. The agenda of the meeting was students' studies, results and uniform disorders.

May 3,2010: Annual School Admissions have started for nursery classes in the morning and evening shifts. Total sixty students (boys and girls in the evening shift) will be selected for both shifts. She shared with them the financial pressures that the Trust is bearing now a days and asked parents to contribute towards the Trust fund as much as they can afford. December 4th, 2009: A farewell party was given to the former Admin Officer of Sanjan Nagar School Mr. Joseph Nadeem. He resigned from the school in September. Mr. Joseph served the school for around ten years. The school principal presented him flowers and gift as a token of appreciation on behalf of the school and admired the services he rendered to the school. Click here to see more pictures.

sd July, 2009: Bravo! This year too our students made remarkable results in the AKU annual examination by scoring A+ Grade. In SSC and HSCC many of our students topped in the whole region in different computer, arts and other humanitarian subjects. Please visit AKU Examination board website for more details.

March 14, 2009: Meeting of Education Committee was conducted at SNPETHSS to discuss the academic issues of weak and challenging students. Promotions of some junior school students were pending since the last final exams. Their promotions are to be made on the condition of their improvement in the second term exams this year.

24-Jan-2009: Education Committee Meeting with Parents held at the school. The meeting was presided by Madam Baela Jamil, one of the trustees fo the Sanjan Nagar Education Trust. Through such meetings, the trustees keep up an established report with parents.

April 21st, 2011: Sanjan Nagar founder Raza Kazim had a speaker session with senior students and teachers at the School Campus. In this three hour long session, he talked about his education and professional career including his experience in education. He specially shared his research work in education system of Pakistan. He also expressed his ambitions and aspiration that he has with students of Sanjan Nagar.

April 19th, 2011: Mr. Willy Oppenheim the founder and Co- Director of OMPRAKASH (connecting volunteers, class rooms and communities) visited Access centre Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School. Mr. Willy who is the citizen of United States, explained about the US culture, important celebrations and holidays. He also asked questions about the culture of Pakistan from students . He shared his views while comparing between the cultures of both the countries.

He explained the rights of females in United States and the Civil Rights Movement. He was presented souvenir made by students of SNPET HSS. It was an interesting session for the students to talk and listen about the US culture.

April 7th, 2011: Ms. Jennifer Larson, ACCESS Program incharge for Pakistan at US Consulate Lahore visited Sanjan Nagar school as a chief guest in the poster and movie Session held at the school. She was welcomed by the Access Coordinator Ms. Fareeha Shahid. Ms Jennifer presided a session with ACCESS students and shared important US national celebrations. She espacially gave detailed information about Martin Luther Kind Jr. She also encouraged students to ask questions. There was friendly environment of conversation of Ms. Jennifer with students. Some posters and books were also displayed. Posters focused on the information regarding Martin Luther king JR. and the lady Rosa Park. She also applaused the enrichment activities done by the Access centre through out the first Semester. One hour session was of movie related to King Martin Luther King Jr. It described students that how king fought for the civil rights of Blacks without violence. Access Coordinator Ms. Fareeha Shahid on the behalf of the SNPET Access centre presented bouquets to Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Tahira Habbib both.

April 18th, 2011: On request of Islamic studies head, Ms Misbah Rani, Dr. Ismat Riaz had a lesson provoking session with HSSC and SSC school students here at the school. She is a well known historian and writer of many social and Pakistan studies text books. She gave a worth-knowledge lecture on importance of Islamic values for our youth. She emphasis her lesson through the famous Iqbal poem "Shikwa" and "Jawab-e-Shikwa". She highlighted the features demanded by the Holy Quran in our young generation. March 16, 2011: A speaker session was held at the ACCESS centre as it is an integral part of the enrichment activities of the ACCESS program. Ms. Faiza Shahrukh, Principal of the Sanjan Nagar Higher Secondary School was the Guest Speaker. She has done her Masters in School Administration from the Beacon House National University (BNU). She had been a counseling Officer with the Beacon House School System prior to working as Manager Training at ITA (Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi).

She inspired the students with her refreshing ideas. Her memories brought laughter and imagination as she spoke regarding her upbringing and exciting travelogues all over Pakistan and many other countries. She encouraged and responded to questions of the ACCESS students. In the end she gave her message to the students, "Education and training are both important for the healthy growth of the personality of an individual; Play premium role in community service, as you are the future of the country; Learn good things and practice these things in your daily life."
