January 21st, 2012:
School coordinators Ms Naseem, Mr.
Saood, Ms. Farzana and Ms. Raheela
presided the Mid-Term planning session.
The agenda of the session was to share
the school's vision, SWOT analysis,
review of the academic calendar, leave
and fee policy etc. the session was
attended by all morning and evening
staff.

January 18th, 2012:
Class 12 students Sidra Shoaib,
received the invitation to attend the
PSIFI festival to be held from 18th to
21st January, 2012.
SPADES, a society at LUMS (NOP)
department, is promoting science and
engineering in Pakistan and is holding
its annual flagship event, 'PsiFi 2012'
this January from the 18th to 21st.
PsiFi has been happening every year
since 2010 to inculcate a sense of
scientific adventurism and a passion for
creation in the new scientists of
Pakistan. This four day event comprises
of many exciting events such as Tour de
mind, Diagnosis Dilemma, Junkyard Wars,
Robo Wars, Gear up and many more. She
got certificate of participation.

January 17th, 2012:
Dr. Rafia Ali conducted special
science/class integration lab practicals
for primary and middle school classes.
Dr. Rafia is currently working with the
Virtual University.

January 6th, 2012:
A dialogue session on Private
Education through Research on SNPET
School held by Zafreen Jaffery. Sanjan
Nagar Public Education Trust (SNPET)
organized a Dialogue on Private Sector
Education. The topic of the Dialogue was
"Opportunities for primary
education: A case study of instructional
practices at an urban NGO school in
Pakistan.", and the session was
conducted by Miss. Zafreen Jaffery who
is an Ed.D from the Portland State

December 20th, 2011:
Christmas presentation was held and
celebrated after break here at the
school. Social Studies teacher Mr
Shamoon hosted and managed this
interesting presentation session.

December 15th, 2011:
Dance4Life session
was held on 15th December 2011. Grade 8,
9 and 10 participated in this
introductory session. It is to make
young people aware of AIDS and HIV
issues. The local team of dance4life in
their school awareness program inspires,
educates and mobilizes young people to
lead the global dance4life movement to
stop the spread of HIV and AIDS.
Students were involved and inspired by
the activity.

December 14th, 2011:
It is always our
pleasure to share the success of SNPET
HSS students. The below mentioned data
shows the participation and SNPETHSS
students in Children Literature Festival
as they came up as winners in different
activities. Our students not only worked
as responsible Ushers but fully indulged
in all activities and discussion that
had taken place in CLF.
Thanks to the organizers who gave
children a platform to perform where
their work and efforts was acknowledged.

promote love for language, Art and

December 10th, 2011:
Social Studies
teacher Ms Shaista conducted a workshop
on teaching multi-languages to primary
school children. All primary school
teachers of second school "evening
shift" and Campus B attended this
workshop. Second school principal Ms
Raheela was also present on the
occasion.

December 8th, 2011:
PYP-Coordinator Ms
Naseem and school principal Ms Faiza
Shahrukh are regularly conducting
sessions on IBO PYP in the Collaborative
planning sessions at the school. All
morning school primary teachers attend
these sessions . They are sharing their
learning and conducting sessions as they
have learned at the recent IBO-PYP
workshop held in Mumbai. Evening shift
head and teachers are also participating
in it.

December 3rd, 2011:
Bank Alfalah Inc.
donated sixteen brand new Intel Dual
Core computer systems to Sanjan Nagar
School. We are obliged to Bank Alfalah
Inc. for this generous donation.
On this occasion, School principal
said, "We are now equipped with
cutting edge-technology to deal with
education. The IT coordinator Mr.
Zulfiqar Ali said, "The generous
donation is definitely going to upgrade
IT infrastructure of Sanjan Nagar school
to deal IT challenges of 21st
century." Each system is powered by
Intel Dual Core processor and 2 GB RAM,
pairing with 19" LCD, DVD ROMs.

November 25th, 2011:
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (lTA) and
Oxford University Press, in
collaboration with Foundation Open
Society Institute Pakistan, and the
Children's Library Complex hosted the
Children's Literature Festival (CLF),
held
on 25 and 26 November,2011 in Lahore.
CLF was the first literature festival
for the children of Pakistan, aimed at
promoting and inculcating reading,
creativity and critical thinking skills
among children. It was a successful
effort to lure them into savoring the
rewards and pleasures offered by books.
It featured talks and readings famous
writers, classes on creative writing,
bookmaking, writing book reviews, making
comics , puppet shows and theatre
performances. For educators, the program
was designed to create a better
understanding of books. As an added
attraction, a Book Fair was also held at

November 24th, 2011:
Fund Raiser Jerusalem held at Alhamra
Art Council. The performance, "Jerusalem", was a fundraiser for
the Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust
Higher Secondary School (SNPETHSS) which
was established in 1995 by Sanjan Nagar
Public Education Trust (SNPET), as a
not-for-profit trust. The performance
fund collected will support SNPETHSS in
its continuous journey of excellence in
Education and expansion by replicating
SNPETHSS and opening one hundred such
schools in the next ten years. Click here

23rd November, 2011:
Principal Ms. Faiza Shahrukh and Ms.
Naseem Rasheed attended 3 days IBO PYP
workshop at Oberoi International School
Mumbai India. MPYPH is the basic
workshop which is initial requirement of
IBO. Sanjan Nagar is in Candidacy Phase
and is working hard for authorization.
It was a good learning experience. The
aspect of Inquiry, curriculum,
assessment and other components were
discussed and worked on in the workshop.
The next step is In- School workshop for
12 staff members which will take place
in 2012. The learning will be shared
with the rest of the staff members in
Collaborative sessions.

November 21st, 2011:
Sanjan Nagar Students acted in MOCK
PARLIAMENT as young parliamentarian
"Seeds of Peace"
Seeds of Peace (an NGO dedicated to
preparing teenagers from areas of
conflict with the leadership skills
required to promote coexistence and
peace), successfully carried out its
second Mock Parliament event at Forman
Christian College, Lahore. The purpose
of the Mock Parliament was to replicate
the structure and working of our
neighboring country. A group of 35
students from 13 private and semi
private schools of Lahore took part as
Members of Parliament of Afghanistan
(the Wolesi Jirga) this year.
Rabia Saeed, Somia Hafeez and Amina
zaib of grade 10 SNPET HSS participated
in this session.
They discussed in detail the legal
status of the Taliban as a political
regime in Afghanistan. They also
discussed how the Taliban may or may not
serve as an inspiration for other
extremist factions within the region.

November 21st, 2011: Sanjan Nagar grade
7 students participated in 4th Inter-
School & Inter collegiate Game at
Kaddafi Stadium Lahore from November
15th to 19th 2011. They won 3 Gold
Medals , 3 Silver and 3 Bronze Medal in
WUSU {KUNG-FU}. They scored highest in
girls category in all SAN SHOU {FIGHT}
{IN KG} .
They were appreciated and
received certificates from the
organizing committee Punjab Olympic
Association. Well done! Girls you make
us all feel proud.

Ms. Farzana Kausar(scenior school
coordinator & biology teacher)
started implanting Master action plan as
part of PSY-PELIi project. Title of her
MAP is
A Step from Organic Waste to Healthy
FOOD and environment,
This project will be conducted by
conducted in six consecutive Saturdays.
The project was initiated and
forwarded by Ms Farzana during her visit
to PSU in August, 2011.

November 17th, 2011: Sanjan Nagar ACCESS
students visited the Access Centre CDG
Girls High School, at Allama Iqbal
Lahore
Students were described to prepare
themselves for the group discussion.
Following were topics of discussion:
1. Use of Face book. 2. Fashion
trends. 3. Use of cell phones.
During the session, students were
free to speak in the favor or against
the topics. Students of both centers
were divided in to groups to discuss
relevant topics under the facilitation
of Instructors of both the centers.
SNPET Access students prepared short

November 10th, 2011: YES Students
Update:
Amina Shahzadi is one of them
who went to USA on iEARN YES exchange
program this year . She is now in Toledo
Ohio. She is currently studying in
Rossford High School. She is studying
algebra 2, American Government, Biology
Honors, Chemistry Honors, English 11,
Physics and US History. Living with a
host family and enjoying their culture
and making them know ours. Click here

Youth Exchange and Study (YES)
Program provides scholarships to
Pakistani high school students for one
academic session in United
States.Students are enrolled in a full
academic year of high school study in
the US, attending classes, labs and
extracurricular programs with their
American classmates. Sanjan Nagar has
been participating in this program for
the past 5 years. Every year one or two
students are selected to go to US by
iEARN.
Arooj Ali is another girl who
was selected this year and is now
studying in 11th grade which is called
junior at Ocean Shores, Washington State

November 2nd, 2011: SNPET School
students visited the JAHAN E JAHANARA. It is a beautiful initiative of
Sheherezade Alam where children can
acquire that essential but rare
experience of their cultural heritage;
it is an opportunity for them to explore
their creative potential in a systematic
manner under expert guidance. At the
core of Jahan e Jahan Ara is a
commitment to revive social and artistic
values to engender change.
Ms. Rabia and Ms. Zarish took 10
students on 30th October,2011 for the
visit. Students were very excited on
their return and shared their experience
with their classmates. They had a round
of the studio ,played with Himalayan
pebbles, made pottery with clay and
learned more about Indus valley

October 30th, 2011:
IPL Volunteers are giving services to
second school at Sanjan Nagar Schools.
Sanjan Nagar HSS Hosting Teaching
Practice of B.Ed Hons: students of
Institute for Professional Leaning:
They will practice for two weeks and
teach at least 20 lessons per week.Their
methods of teaching are based on basic
activity based learning, Inquiry methods
and integrating central ideas with other
concepts and lesson.
Hopefully they will complete their
practice and learn various skills for
becoming future teachers.

October 18th, 2011:
Class Nursery, Prep,
One, Two and three went on an
educational trip to Lahore Zoo. The
group led by Ms Misbah Rani and other
class teachers accompanied the students
during the visit. The students were
overwhelmed to see different animals and
birds. Teachers briefed them about some
particular wild animals as well.

October 17th, 2011: Special plantation
session held under the theme of the
Kitchen Gardening. The kitchen Gardening
is a government campaign run in schools
to make aware students and their parents
about the importance and benefit of
growing vegetables in homes. The team visited the school and had a
demonstration session with grade 8
students and parents. She explained how
to grow vegetables in winter season and
prepare patches for this. A seed bag was
also distributed among students and
parents to promote home kitchen garden
in used fruit crate boxes. Click here

October 14th, 2011: Dr. Sajjid Maqbool
who is a child specialist and a senior
doctor at Children's Hospital had a
session with primary school students. He
talked on functions of human body and
doctor as member of the society.
Students had many questions. It was a
great session.

October 11th, 2011: US Consulate officer
Ms. Leslie visited the Sanja Nagar
School. She presented a presentation on
American cultural to all ACCESS and
regular school students.

|
October 3rd, 2011: Grade eleven student
Rabia Shoaib won the scholarship for
Baccalaureate at FC college. Her sister
is a YES alumni.
