Global Challenge 20/20 Project

The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), represents more than 1,300 independent schools and associations in the United States , and affiliates with independent schools abroad as well. Visit www.nais.org for more details about NAIS.

Challenge 20/20 is an annual NAIS initiative, and schools are encouraged to participate every year to continue their work on solving global problems. It is an Internet-based program that pairs classes at any grade level (K-12) from schools in the U.S. with their counterpart classes in schools in other countries; together the teams (of two or three schools) tackle real global problems to find solutions that can be implemented at the local level and in their own communities. Visit the link below for more details:http://www.nais.org/conferences/index.cfm?ItemNumber=147262&sn.ItemNumber=148035

NAIS online forum: http://200809challenge2020.ning.com A forum for 2008-09 Challenge 20/20 schools to network with each other A place where all the team teachers and related project members meet to share, plan and work on the assigned global problem. Project work will also be posted on the same forum.

Challenge 20/20 updates throughout the year by NAIS at www.nais.org/go/challenge2020

Next Steps: " Begin the work on identifying local solutions to the assigned global problem as a team. " Submit any photographs and supplemental materials to NAIS from April to May by email to suciu@nais.org.  NAIS will use some of these for promotional purposes, display and marketing only. " Submit the team's online report on progress in May 2009. This report will be available at www.nais.org/go/challenge2020 as we get closer to that date. Once we submit our report, we can continue our work together for the remainder of the school year with our team.
