The
National Association of Independent
Schools (NAIS), represents more than
1,300 independent schools and
associations in the
United States
, and affiliates with independent
schools abroad as well. Visit www.nais.org
for more details about NAIS.
Challenge 20/20 is
an annual NAIS initiative, and schools
are encouraged to participate every year
to continue their work on solving global
problems. It is an Internet-based
program that pairs classes at any grade
level (K-12) from schools in the U.S.
with their counterpart classes in
schools in other countries; together the
teams (of two or three schools) tackle
real global problems to find solutions
that can be implemented at the local
level and in their own communities.

Next Steps: " Begin the work on
identifying local solutions to the
assigned global problem as a team.
" Submit any photographs and
supplemental materials to NAIS from
April to May by email to suciu@nais.org.
NAIS will use some of these for
promotional purposes, display and
marketing only. " Submit the team's
online report on progress in May 2009.
This report will be available at www.nais.org/go/challenge2020
as we get closer to that date. Once we
submit our report, we can continue our
work together for the remainder of the
