September 6th, 2010: Six SSC
and HSSC
students had a four-days exchange
visit to India from 31st
August to 4th September 2010. The
group was headed by the school
principal Ms. Faiza Shahrukh,
project coordinator Ms. Saima
Shaukat and IT Teacher Mr.
Zulfiqar Ali. The contingent,
hosted by the Millennium School
Noida, India, participated in
different workshops, discussion
forums on Indo-Pakistan Peace
through Education and visited
different places in India.
Sanjan Nagar Public Education
Trust Higher Secondary School (SNPETHSS)
affectionately welcomed the joint
project idea by Shankar Musafir,
Manager, Education Empowerment -
Millennium Education for
Sustainable Development Program (MESDP).
This is the second successful
exchange program between India and
Pakistan by Sanjan Nagar Trust,
previously with "Bluebells
International School, New Delhi.
The proposed name for the project
"Indo-Pak I ndependence
Day Project" was purposely
changed into "Indo-Pak Peace
Project through Education" by
the Managing Trustee of Sanjan
Nagar Trust, Baela Raza Jamil with
the optimism of a sustainable
project for the promotion of
learning, sharing and peace. The
first exchange was due from 11th
to 18th of Aug 2010 from both
sides but it could not happen
because of the severity in visa
issuance .Finally, being the vital
part of the project the first
exchange Visit from Pakistan
happened from 31st Aug to 4th Sep.

Sanjan Nagar School principal,

crossed Wagah Border (Attari in
India) on foot and were warmly
received by the Principal The
Millennium School (TMS) Amritsar,
SHYAMAL DEY and his team on the
other side of the border. The
group spent next 3 days in TMS
NOIDA. The welcome ceremony in
Amritsar and Noida with the
titles, "ZARA YAD KARO
QURBANI" and "UMEED"
respectively, represented
marvelously cultural events
incorporating hope for Indo-
Pakistan friendship with music,
dance, drama and a lively
interaction. The visit went
productive with the workshops by
"World Comics India",
"PRAVA", Prof. Anil
Sethi (Head History Department,
NCERT), Prof. Krishna Kumar
(Former Director, NCERT) and ESD
workshop with Shankar Musafir.
Baela Raza Jamil, the
management trustee of the
Lahore-based school, said in an
interview to a newspaper, "We
are trying hard to establish a
Joint Knowledge Production Forum
between the two nations so that
students get to interact and work
with each other. That would also
reduce the long standing
differences among the future
