The PYP Exhibition 2018

On 28th March '18, Grade 5 students culminated their year through a faboulous exhibition. We received madam Tauseef Hayat to appreciate students and teachers efforts . later madam Tasneem Maqbool also visited Sanjan Nagar with her sister. They appreciated students efforts.  Here is a brief summary of the exhibition.

Developing real-world skills through the PYP exhibition


In the Primary Years Program (PYP), students are encouraged to be curious and caring lifelong learners with the capacity to take responsible action
In the final year of the PYP, students, carry out an extended, in-depth, collaborative project known as the PYP exhibition.
In Exhibition teachers and learners work in a joint effort and use an inquiry-based approach to deal with genuine life-based issues. Learners on the whole, work on the majority of the basic components of their central idea of the selected theme and later on the Exhibition day impart to entire school community, parents and visitors. .
On Wednesday, 28th March '18, our Grade 5 students organizedand  presented their 2017-18 PYP Exhibition. For this year students have chosen an issue "Children worldwide encounter a range of challenges and risks" under the Transdisciplinary theme, "Sharing the planet.

 

Following Basic learning, Engagements were performed for the PYP-Exhibition.

  • Ask an expert session with Nouman Ahmad (PYP- librarian) Maltreatment and child trafficking.
  • Ask an expert session with Mr. Saimon Robion on inequality in education
  • in school, surveys are conducted to find info about unequal opportunities of education
  • Community surveys were conducted on child labor.

  • Dr. Sajid Maqbool on malnutrition
  • Madam Tauseef Hayat on unequal opportunities of education.
  • Dr. Naeem Zafer chief executive of Pehchaan organization ) on child trafficking, child abuse, and child labor,
  • Ms. Rashida Qureshi (CRF Punjab coordinator) on Child rights

 

Parents’ views on the exhibition

 

Parents/visitors talked about learner’s presentation as far as excitement and confidence. They were awed by their youngster's accomplishments, aptitudes, and development. They appreciated the school activities in developing 21st-century skills, aptitudes, for example, web browsing, collecting data and presenting information. A considerable lot of the parents and visitors affirmed their decision of sending their child to an IB school. They were astounded to listen their children discussing the key rights of the children the different challenges and risks" being faced by the children nowadays.

Over all it seemed to be a good work with some challenges and recommendations for the next year.We are very much thankful to our EC for the timely provision of resource persons and experts.
