This International Women’s Month, we’d like to honour  Ms. Noorena Shams  who was invited by Sanjan Nagar Trust School as an inspirational  speaker, to have an interactive session with the senior school students. She shared  her journey , trials and tribulations, determination, and perseverance. 

Ms. Shams has been a sportsperson since 2008. She was the first-ever cyclist to win a silver medal for Pakistan in the Junior Olympics. She has played different sports and has won 63 gold medals, 24 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals. As a squash player, she has touched the significant rankings by 

 by the Professional Squash Association.

She is listed among the 100 Inspirational Women by Paparazzi Magazine in 2016. She was on the list of 50 Influential Ladies of Pakistan in 2016 and was listed among the 24 Inspirational Figures of Pakistan in 2016 by the UNDP. She was also featured in the “BEAT ME” video by UN WOMEN .

She has been trying to help many students and athletes financially through her social media presence. She has been listed among young activists serving in COVID-19 by the United Nation Youth Envoy.

 “In these difficult times, it’s important to still smile, along with the tears. Use your role and position to connect and do the right thing. We have to create an environment in which we are happy to pursue what we want to and are passionate about . As a 24 year old a lot of young aspiring sportswomen are looking upto Noorena  as a role model . She says "we have to be responsible for our actions and there is nothing more important than people's lives. What triggers us into any action is support and motivation one can provide  another human being. The more I give, the more I get and I never fail with that.” 

We are truly grateful to Noorena Shams for taking her valuable time out for us and travelling all the way from Peshawar ;  for being an inspirational and motivational figure for her audience .
