May 7th, 2014: Mr. Chintan Girish Modi an Indian guest had a speaker session with Grade 8 and senior school students.
The main purpose of the session was to sensitize students about the conflicting issues between Pakistan & India and efforts to be made for peacemaking and harmony among new generation to make the countries live in peace.
The session started with the orientation, and then the beautiful art and drawing activity was conducted. Concluding discussion was made, which stated that “Every individual can be the agent of change by putting little efforts of forgiving and forgetting the misunderstandings between the two”
Chintan Girish Modi is the founder of Friendships Across Borders, asocial media initiative that builds on the power of personal friendshipsto transform the long-standing hostility between India and Pakistan.The offline arm of this initiative engages with students in schools, colleges anduniversities around the idea of cross-border friendships for peace building. He is alsopart of the Building Peace Project 2014 run by the Red Elephant Foundation, whereinyoung people from India and Pakistan are paired with each other to correspond for ayear using various means of communication, and maintain a peace journal during theprocess. He is actively involved in friendship and peace initiatives between India andPakistan, and has participated in programmes organized by the Citizens Archive ofPakistan, Aman Ki Asha, Pul-e-jawan, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi, Aaghaz-e-Dosti, andWomen in Security, Conflict Management and Peacce.
