Fund Raiser Jerusalem
November 25th, 2011:

Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi(lTA) and Oxford University Press, in collaboration with Foundation Open Society Institute Pakistan,and the Children's Library Complex hosted the Children's Literature Festival(CLF),held on 25 and 26 November,2011 in Lahore.

CLF was the first literature festival for the children of Pakistan, aimed at promoting and inculcating reading, creativity and critical thinking skills among children. It was a successful effort to lure them into savoring the rewards and pleasures offered by books. It featured talks and readings famous writers, classes on creative writing, bookmaking, writing book reviews, making comics , puppet shows and theatre performances. For educators, the program was designed to create a better understanding of books. As an added attraction, a Book Fair was also held at the venue.

Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School actively participated in the event with an aim to create an interest for reading, writing, authors and literature, among it's students. SNPETHSS team comprised of teachers and students with Mr.Aamir Yousaf and Mrs.Zarish Mobeen as incharge. Tuba Hafeez and Warda Shakoor of grade 12, were the Young Ambassadors for the event. Twenty students of the school worked as ushers and volunteers for the smooth management of the event. The teachers and Mrs.Faiza Shahrukh(Principal) were active participants of panel discussions, while the students unleashing their creative potentials took part in all the competitions and won the highest number of awards and prizes. The opening song was also performed by the school choir. Overall, it was a very rewarding and worthwhile experience for the teachers and students of the school.
